Frequently Asked Questions
Does one code work for both iPhone and Android?
No — this tool generates one direct link per store. Generate an App Store code for iOS users and a separate Google Play code for Android. Two codes, clearly labelled, is more reliable than any device-detection system.
Why no smart routing between stores?
Smart routing requires a server to detect the user's device and redirect them. QR Code Zebra is browser-only with no backend — that's intentional. Two clearly labelled codes on your marketing materials is just as effective and removes any dependency on a third-party service.
Can I change the app link after printing?
No. Static code — URL is fixed. Use the permanent store URL for your app, not a promotional link that might expire.
How do I find my store URL?
App Store: find your app on apps.apple.com and copy the address bar URL. Google Play: find your app on play.google.com and do the same. Or use the Share button on your app’s store page on a phone.
Will this open the App Store app or just a browser?
Most phones recognise the store URL and open the native app directly. If the app isn't installed, it falls back to the browser version. Either way the user reaches your listing.
Why doesn't the app icon appear in the preview?
The preview card is a placeholder — we don't fetch data from Apple or Google during generation. Your app name in the optional field is enough to label the preview. The QR code itself always contains the correct URL.
Is there a fee?
No. Free, permanent, no subscription.
What size to print?
Minimum 2 cm × 2 cm. SVG for anything going to a print shop or appearing on a banner.
