Frequently Asked Questions

Does QR Code Zebra take a cut of my payments?

No. We generate a link to your payment profile — that's it. We're not a payment processor and we're not involved in any transaction. Any fees you pay are between you and PayPal, Venmo, CashApp, or Revolut directly.

Is my username stored anywhere?

No. Everything is generated locally in your browser. Your username never reaches our servers — there are none. Close the tab and it's gone.

Will this work for international payments?

Depends on the platform. PayPal supports most countries and multiple currencies. Venmo and CashApp are US-only. Revolut works across most of Europe and the UK. Choose the platform that works for both you and the person paying.

Can I update the amount after printing?

No — static code, fixed amount. If you want a different amount, generate a new code. For something like a market stall where prices vary, leave the amount blank and let the buyer enter it.

Do I need to type the $ or @ before my username?

No — the platform selector handles that automatically. CashApp gets the $ prefix, Venmo gets @. Just type the core username and the preview will show you exactly how it'll look.

What if the person scanning doesn't have the app?

Usually their phone opens a browser version of your payment profile. From there they can log in or download the app. It's rarely a dead end — most platforms handle this gracefully.

Is this the same as a merchant or point-of-sale QR code?

No. Merchant QR codes typically involve proprietary systems, dynamic redirects, and transaction fees. What we generate is a plain static link to your personal or business profile — free, permanent, no subscription.

Why does the preview change colour when I switch platforms?

Each platform has its own brand colours — PayPal blue, CashApp green, Revolut black — and we match that in the preview so you can quickly confirm you've selected the right one. The QR code you download is always standard black and white.
